Here is one of my projects that I have been waiting for some time to work with. I now know what I am going to do with it! It is going to be a Retro-Raptor......What do you all think?

It was my grandfathers, bought brand new in 1977 from Galpin Motors.

Nice comparo. Honestly, I like both of them. Does the '77 still run...or is it up to *****? That Raptor looks extremely familiar...hmmm.

Go for it!! There is a lot of stuff you can do with the twin I-beam front suspension. Here is a goal to shoot for:

There's no twin I beam there Kaiser, it's a 4X4 coil-over solid front axle. Got plenty of ideas, likely won't be a pre-runner style but more of a 4-link suspended trail crawler. Likely will use the Molten orange and black graphic look though.

Oh yes, the little 351 purrs like a kitten. The truck has just been sitting a while waiting for some TLC. (you know.....$$$$) Ha!

Very nice. I dig the old school stuff quite a bit. Gonna build one, one day...

"Retro Raptor" - I like that! You've got a good looking conceptual design.

You should make plans to build it and take it to a show. Better yet, talk to aftermarket product manufacturers and tell them you want to exhibit it at SEMA and you want to use their products. Bet you'll be able to get their products for free as long as you apply their decals (temporarily of course). Seriously - you can do it. Just get one of them to commit to letting you put it in their booth at SEMA.

I didn't see the pumpkin in the front, but I do notice the hubs, now that you mention it. My dad and I had a '78 like that with a 400M for a while, but it was a non-running project truck that got sold before we could do anything with it. It will make a good rock crawler.
