So is it possible to change out the factory Nav for an aftermarket stereo of some sort yet? I have looked into it off and on for a couple years and while it's possible to stick a stereo in a non-nav truck, no one has any solution for the factory Nav equipped trucks. At least no one that I can find. Has anyone successfully swapped out a factory Nav for something else?

If I remember correctly, there's only one unit available right now? Noah can elaborate but I remember reading him say something to that effect. I often lie though so don't take my word for it.

Yeah I can't find anything on it. I have contacted several car stereo installers, Crutchfield, PAC, and a few other places over the last couple years and everyone said you can install pretty much whatever you want if you don't have nav, if you do have factory nav then you are pretty much up a creek. The main issue (from what I understand) is the dual climate controls being integrated with the nav head unit. I wouldn't be opposed to buying everything you would need to install the standard climate controls and whatnot, but you need to swap out a bunch of stuff behind the dash and that could be more trouble than it's worth. Also the local Ford tech said that you would have to reprogram the BCM on the truck to accept the new parts. Then there is the matter of getting the backup camera to work with an aftermarket head unit after all that is said and done. I was just hoping someone had figured out how to do it without all the fuss.

2012 and below, you can change the head unit. on the 2013 and 2014 models, the only way to access the heated and cooled seats are with the touch screen. on the older models, there are touch screen controls and physical controls as well.

My Raptor is a 2010 and yes there are physical controls, but not for everything. For instance you can't take it out of dual climate mode without the touchscreen. Additionally you can't tell what mode it is set on or the temperature or anything without the display on the touchscreen. Is there a way to get around that?

Pretty much you have factory Nav you have to keep it to use climate control.... Not any other option unless you don't mind setting the temperature controls with no display as to temp.... Pretty much on 2012 and earlier you can adjust the temp with the manual buttons but you don't know what your setting it too.. You have up down and hot or cold buttons... So for almost everyone you have no way to replace the factory Navigation head unit...

You're right, it isn't all that bad for a factory unit. But I don't like the fact that I am stuck with it whether I like it or not. And I especially hate the fact that Ford feel like it hasn't needed an update since it came out. Or the fact that I can buy a whole Garmin GPS with free lifetime map updates for the price of one years map updates for this one. And for that matter, pretty much every where I go with the GPS it constantly says "Entering area of incomplete map data, proceed with caution." and then it tell you to "Turn right, with caution." Plus it's an off road truck and you can't load off road maps on the GPS. Or that the bluetooth integration (by todays standards) is pathetic. I also just have a fundamental problem with car manufacturers sticking a system in their cars that the users either have to like or have to suffer with through the entire life of the car whether they like it or not. I mean imagine if you were looking at buying a house and the real estate agent said "This house comes with a Windows 8 PC in every room, and you can do whatever you want with them for as long as you own the house as long as you never upgrade their OS or replace them with new ones."

Haha sorry for the rant, but car infotainment systems are a real sore spot with me at the moment.
