I didn't measure out the distance needed to fit the lightbar, but PropDr might be right. You may have to cut so much out that you would loose bumper attachment points.

The honeycomb behind the bumperettes comes off with 2 nuts behind the bumper. A bitch to get to with the bumper still on, but possible. I've taken mine off twice now for different reasons.
I too looked into the idea of putting a larger RDS light bar in that area with the bumperettes removed. The only issue that I could see is that the bumperette area is where your frame horns are. You would have to shave some of these off to make it fit right. Other than that, it will fit. I put a 20" RDS in the front bumper and the curve doesn't completely match up with the bumper, close, but not exact. I believe a longer bar would exaggerate that issue.

I see what you are saying, the bend of the bumper is not as pronounced as I thought. Sucks trying to scheme this stuff when you can't walk out into the garage and take a quick look. A straight bar might work better.

Found some loose bumpers for sale on ebay, the mounts look pretty simple. Fabrication of new bumper mounts and frame mounts would be a fun project.

Yes, you could definitely fabricate new mounts for it to tie into. Wouldn't be that hard.

I do, and I am in Clarksville fairly often (maybe once every 2 weeks) as I have a plant up there that I manage.
When do you plan on being back home?
