GEN 2 Remove 2017 raptor hood/bed graphics

Hello everyone

I'd really like to take off my hood & bed graphics.

The hood stripes are just ok but I personally don't prefer the bed graphic. I prefer a minimalist look.

My raptor is a 2017.
Paint looks ok.

Do you think there will be a color variation if I take off the bed graphics?

3 Year’s in the sun in your location? I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s fade, but give it a try. Good luck...

Others have done it with seeing any variations while others have regretted the decision. I'm in a similar boat, as mine is a 17 with bed side graphic that I would prefer to remove. I'm not the original owner, and don't really know how exposed to the sun the vehicle has gotten. The smart thing to do, I think, is to find out how expensive it will be to fix if it's not correct. That could be either adding a bed graphic back to the vehicle, some sort of polish that will fix, or repaint.

I may just peel a corner one day and take a look.

Same as you. Purchased my 2017 in April of this year.
It barely had 5,000 miles on it and the paint looked good. No harsh or marred surfaces. Virtually no spider webs or circular scratches. But it could've been sitting in the sun for all I know and there could be a difference.
I'm thinking the difference, if any, wouldn't be major.

I'm hesitant to take a peak because then I'll have a straggling edge that will feel like a pebble in my shoe.

I also don't want to paint it because then I'll have to paint the rest of the vehicle.

I think if you remove the stickers any fading, which I think is doubtful, could be removed or minimized with some polishing of the bedside. I prefer the no sticker look myself so I’d take a gamble on it.

Jason ,thats what I'm thinking as well.
I doubt any fading will be particularly visible.
Its a white car and eventually they'll match.

You can probably get some 3M adhesive remover to dissolve the adhesive on the graphic. Let the chemical do the work and slowly peel. Could be a ghost image of the graphic left over, but that remains to be seen. White is probably your best chance to not see anything once the graphic is removed.

^3M adhesive remover is amazing stuff! You may also need to use a heat gun as well and DA polish to blend the area. On a White Raptor you shouldn’t have any problems. (Remember start with the least aggressive combo and slowly work up as needed). Top it with a good ceramic coating or sealant and you’ll never know you had decals.
