Remote Starting 2018

I have tried (double clicking) the remote starting button on the fob several times in different scenarios and I just get the red light on the fob.
Is there some adjustment that needs to happen or a box that needs clicking in a menu item?

Are you hitting the lock button before you hit the remote start button?

its the lock button 1 time then the remote start button 2 times.
