cant find the reason for this release latch under driver side back seat. my seat does not latch/lock in place and moves freely just lifting it up. Does yalls fo the same? maybe dumb question but I've been hearing a noise from back and thinking the seat not being secure might be it.

Is is not a latch there is a release but for decided not to add a pull like the other side. You can get a aftermarket one from built right industry’s. Here is a video that helps see how it works from factory and the install

appreciate it I will be definitely getting that part for top section. However my bottom section does not lock in any position up or down so that release handle is doing nothing on underside of bottom seat. In video it appeared the guy pulled the release on bottom seat to get it to move which meant it locked onto something and mine is not locking in any position.

Yeah mine locks up when I push it all the way up to the back cushion. If it’s not locking there must be a issue as it locks without much effort

You gotta give the rear seat a good push to latch and stay up. I think the middle arm rest sticks out enough to not allow the seat to latch.

thanks for all the replies, yep had to pretty much slam the seat up to get it to lock. I'm just going to leave it in locked up position for while to help break it in. Appreciate yall.

Kind of similar question to what I think OP was asking - are the rear seats supposed to lock or latch onto something when they are in the down position? Or just when lifted up and into the seatback?

Mine do lock when lifted up but do not lock when in the down position; I can lift them up without using the seat release button underneath and they're not locked down when lowered. Is that how they're supposed to be? Thanks in advance
