Back in November when we ordered our truck I was told we were 11th in line. Along the way I was told we were 7th. Recently when I saw on here that some other orders were picked up I figured I'd call to see where we were (hoping that other non-forum-posting buyers had also been picked up) and I was told I was 3rd. So, I was making progress. That was until I called today. My salesman is Richard, but he wasn't in and I spoke to Robyn. She said there was nothing new, Ford is slow to pick up orders, etc, etc. She also said that those orders that were recently "picked up" in feb weren't slated to be built until March or April. Since I had her on the phone I figured I'd ask her what position we were actually in now. I almost drove off the road when she said I was NINTH!!! How I went from 3rd to ninth I have no idea. I called and spoke to one of the mangers, whom I had spoken to before and he said he'd look into it. I later got a call from Richard to explain what had happened:
We ordered a SCAB. I was originally told that it made ABSOLUTELY no difference what we ordered and that the orders are picked up in the order they are received. NOW I'm being told that Ford has only been picking up orders for SCREW's. So they say we're 3rd, but 3rd in line for a SCAB. But, there are the other 9 (?) orders for SCREW's as well. So I don't know what to believe at this point. I asked Richard to please explain to me at what point did Ford start hand-picking which truck orders they pulled (when did that change??). He said he had no answer for that. Literally, "I don't know".
The way I look at it, if they pick up even 4 or 5 of those + the other scabs in front of me, I'm no better than 7 or 8th maybe?? So long story short, I started at 11th and after 4 months I am just a few spots closer to getting our truck??? Not happy. Not happy at all. What bothers me the most is that I put my order in and was ready to wait. I didn't look any further. I was done. I'm pissed that at this point I'm stuck. If I went somewhere else I wouldn't be any better off and would be waiting just the same.
I understand that these people want to sell cars. Richard and Robyn and everyone there are nice people. I know they can only do so much. If they could build these trucks themselves for their clients I'm sure they would. But regardless of who is to "blame", something isn't right here.
