Was notified on FordPass but haven't got anything in the mail yet. Its only a couple days old. I don't like the idea of them tearing into my truck. Just saying...

I’m not sure if I want insulation removed (not replaced) from the B-Pillar. Isn’t insulation supposed to insulate noise?

“Dealers will remove insulation material from the B-pillar trim, remove remnants of wiring harness tape in the B-pillar area, and apply heat-resistant tape to the carpet and its insulation," Ford's statement said. "Dealers also will modify the back interior panels of Regular Cab vehicles.”

Removal of insulation from B-pillar trim, remove remnants of wiring harness tape in the B-pillar area & apply heat-resistant tape to carpet & its insulation.

Ford's recalling 1,995,776 F-150's from the last 3 model years to fix front seatbelt pretensioners.

The company's aware of 17 reports of smoke or fire in the United States and 6 in Canada stemming from pretensioners in the front driver & passenger seats. The belt's pretensioner pulls in the seatbelt & makes it tight when the vehicle detects a possible collision, to strap in passengers as best as possible.

After learning of reports of faulty pretensioners, the company launched an investigation & found that they can generate excessive sparks when deployed. Sparks ignite gases in the frame, which can burn components such as the car's insulation & carpet.

The recall includes 1,619,112 in the USA, 339,884 in Canada & 36,780 in Mexico.

Affected vehicles:
  • 2015-18 F-150 built at DTP, March 12, 2014 through Aug. 23, 2018.
  • 2015-18 F-150 built at KCTP, Aug. 20, 2014 through Aug. 23, 2018.
