I know there has been a lot of discussion on this but I'm having trouble finding the simple information.

I just want a blackened ford billet badge rather than the blue chrome combo that's on there.

Where should I purchase the badge and more importantly where can I find installation instructions?

Billet Badges - billet aluminum custom emblems and badges

They used to be a forum vendor, but not anymore I guess. Not sure why. Anyway, they make a good high quality replacement. Can even go custom if you want something different. That's what I did and it turned out pretty cool!

Installation is pretty simple. If you have the backup camera you can either use a plastic trim removal pry bar or some twisted up fishing line. Slide your chosen tool between the plastic badge and the camera trim and pry it off. The tabs on the badge will break and the badge will fall off. (No other way to remove the badge, but since you're replacing it, who cares)
The billet badged comes precisely milled on the back side for a perfect flush fit. Clean off the mounting surface with some rubbing alcohol, peel the film off the 3m double sided tape on the back of the badge and press it on. There may be a little room for error, so center as best as you can before sticking it on there. That's all there is to it. Hope that helps!

Got an easier fix potentially. I just had mine fenders, grill, bumpers, rims, and badges blacked out with plasti-dip from using a paint gun/sprayer. Looks great! Had it for over a month no issues. Why Ford would ever have gray accents and black is beyond me, and a tacky chrome blue badge on black truck. Buy one can and paint it. If you don't like it, it peels right off and looks like it did before. Hope that helps.

This is a Billet badge with bezel painted to match the truck.

Had mine reverse milled so the letters and trim pop out like on the Raptor and F150 badges...
