here, on frf
try not to think of it that way. yes, we are a pretty tight knit community here, but the reason they have the minimum requirement is so that you can become part of this community. wether we talk trash to each other out of sarcasm, or help answer people question when they have a problem, or complain about stuff that happenend, its about being an active member here. ebay, craigslist and amazon are available for you to sell your stuff right away, im aure there are a ton of people who would want to buy your stuff. but if they let everyone on here just to dump their parts, then it would become a flea market. get to know these members, ask questions, answer questions, and you will find out how we really are here. i wasnt a supporting member at first, but i really liked this forum so i chose to support it. now with my audio knowledge, i am a vendor here as well. so i pay a monthly vendor fee, and my annual supporting member fee. small price to pay when you get this much in return. this is somehing that happened to me recently, and guess what? it was a fellow frf member to save the day. on his 21st birthday even.

dont be bitter about not being able to post something for sale, instead get to know us here and become one of us. there is no initiation process, just hang out and get to know your truck and the others here. we dont discriminate, hell in a couple days this will all be forgotten.

For Sale Rules Updated

If you post 30 posts in an hour to get your 50 limit for a For Sale thread, you are not fooling anyone - don't expect us to be in a hurry to approve your thread. The requirement is there for you to CONTRIBUTE to the forum, not clog things up with short, useless posts. If you are in that big of a hurry to sell something, become a Supporting Member - the post requirement is waived.

Just so everyone knows, the minimum post requirement is in place for 2 reasons.

1. It requires that members contribute something useful to the forum, not just come here to sell their items (for free) and disappear. A forum is a community that thrives on user generated content. This isn't Craigslist. Nothing is "FREE" in this world, you want to sell something on the forum we have all worked so hard to build? Contribute to it somehow.

2. Most importantly, the minimum post requirement lessens the chance of members being scammed or ripped off. If someone was allowed to join today and immediately sell something, that's just too easy.

If a member is required to stick around for 5 days and make 50 posts, that will deter most anyone who wants to run in here and scam someone. It would be much easier to just go to Craigslist and scam someone today. If you want to rip someone off, go right ahead but you won't do it on FRF. Also remember I have access to your IP address and email address. A simple call to the local police, your ISP and/or email provider and we will have someone at your front door in 48 hours.

The Supporting Member option isn't there because we want to force you to pay to sell something. But rather, when you become a Supporting Member we receive your personal information from PayPal which eliminates the risk of members being scammed. Sure, you could still get scammed but the person won't get away with it because we have their name and address!

Also, if you're ripped off by a Supporting Member, we will forfeit whatever the "scammer" paid to the forum and give it to whoever got ripped off.

So before you bitch and complain about having to make 50 posts, realize the reasons behind it. Making 50 useless posts in order to work the system is extremely disrespectful and an abuse of the forum.

Thank you for the kind words and information.

I have no intentions to rip off anyone, I just wanted to sell my wheels. PayPal is a great security feature, if I stated please send cash in white envelope to Po box then I understand. Lol

And I'm pretty sure all or most of my post were legit responses to the thread topic. Thank you for your help
