I have had some issues with my truck overheating since installing an ADD intercooler and was told by SVC off-road and Rpg off-road they have had similar issues. SVC said they had luck relocating the transmission cooler behind an aftermarket bumper skid plate, so it isn’t heat soaking the radiator. Has anybody else been able to do this or have any information on it ?

Why not look to replace stock Trans Cooler vs. relocating the stock one?

I only ask because I just bought a Cobb Intercooler and Full Race Trans cooler.
I wasn't worried about the radiator.....yet.

Because that would block the radiator more and my transmission isn’t overheating my motor is, making it worse.

I did the full race radiator and trans cooler as a precaution.

I havent had an issue with heat soaking though.

Fair warning- I literally have just enough inner fender to shield the wiring from a mud bath, but I'm also running full length aluminum foutz skids.

Thanks for the feedback. The only times it went into limp mode is pulling a 6500 lb boat up to Lake Powell. Did the new radiator drop your coolant temp that you noticed?

quite a bit. I also don't see anywhere close to the same temp fluctuation. I haven't really watched the temp like a hawk, nor have i even bothered to check the numerical temp. I'd give it a go, but my truck is currently 500 miles away from me.

I was actually more concerned with trans temp while flogging the truck offroad for hundreds of miles.

On average, my trans is running 15-20 degrees cooler than it was with the factory cooler.
