GEN 2 Raptor towing numbers don't add up

So am I understanding you correctly - did you start with the Firestone Raptor Gen 1 kit, and the daystar cradles and that all installed okay on the Gen 2? You're the first person I've heard of with air bags on a Gen 2 after a fair bit of searching. Thanks in advance!

That's correct. I didn't take the bags off of the old Raptor when I sold it. The shop just ordered the same regular F150 airbags and mounts for me to install on the new truck. Works no problem.

One side benifit to the airbags off road is they will act as a bump stop...I am going to install some on my truck for sure when I tow. I will be curious about a changed bracket to move it so you dont loose travel.

Can you walk us through your sequence of setting up the WDH and air bags please?
Curious as to how you set your bars and add air, or vice versa... I can't get my head wrapped around it.
I've never tried both, have only read about "how difficult it is to use both" and never felt the need for air after properly setting up the WDH.
Great feedback, and 13mpg is incredible! What were you getting with the GEN1 anyway? Whenever I've pulled that kind of weight at any kind of speed, I'm under 10mpg with my 6.2.

I just towed my 7x19 enclosed aluminum trailer 2300lbs on Friday and got 11.2mpg towing at 77-80 with my Gen 2. Did awesome towing too.

How much drop in rear will you have to be before the bump stops engage? 5 inches?

with the 4" installed, mine was about an inch before contact and loaded. 8K trailer (loaded also) and WDH. The 4" is perfect and back to the 2" for daily and simple boat pull. 2600 mile pull coast to coast.

Honestly it depends on so much...Shape of trailer has the biggest impact. My 2300lb trailer gets 4-5mpg less then an open trailer and 7k lbs. Also I was using cruise control...that always gets me 1-1.5mpg less then manual throttle inputs. Also depends on terrain and wind conditions. Gas engines are impacted by everything. My wifes jeep ecodiesel gets 15-19 towing the same 2300lb enclosed trailer at 80 on cruise control. Thing tows like a beast. My Ram with 8sp and hemi gets 9.5 towing. So far impressed on how gen 2 tows.
