one other item no one has really touched on is the stock tires are not rated for much over 100MPH either. So every time you do go over 100 you risk a tire coming apart which would be NO BUENO. :mexsmoke:

I actually think that I get better MPG in the mountains because of the long descents from the high passes. When you're coasting for 20 or 30 miles at a time, the fuel shutoff/cylinder deactivation really shines. And you've got more than enough power to keep up with traffic on the uphill climbs without maxing out your revs. I'm able to make the trip from the western slope of Colorado over to Denver at 21-22 MPG in my 5.4L FX4.

I have done alot of testing with fuel economy at elevation. The best advantage is from the fact of less drag/lower air pressure. If you ever have alot of time, 55mph at high elevation would probably get over 20mpg pretty easy in these bricks.

I will be going to the drag strip sometime this spring to see how the raptor does. I know its going to be slow but who cares its the fun in it. 37's with 5.13s.... it will still bark them in 3rd.
