Your point keeps changing. First you’re all about not giving money to companies who invest in things other than their business, then you’re calling me a sheep for pointing out the ridiculousness of that, then you’re saying that companies are only investing in social causes to keep afloat with money that comes from unnamed investment groups based on DEI policies. Now you’re saying they’re losing money because they’re ignoring their customer base, which is far from the norm. Yes bud light is bleeding but Anheiser-Busch, the biggest beer conglomerate in the world, isn’t going anywhere. Target was catering to their base, which is more affluent white communities, and their mismanagement of the conservative backlash caused the progressives to also get mad at them. These issues are much more nuanced than “advertising to gay and trans people bad.”, and treating it like that just does you and whoever is listening a massive disservice.

Back to the topic at hand, Ford Europe’s (not Ford proper) marketing department was ******* with some internet troll and made the gay raptor, well before all this recent backlash against Bud Light, and nobody gave two ***** until a couple weeks ago, and getting mad about it just now makes you look like way more of a sheep than those who don’t care.

Doug you’re missing this at every step. I feel sorry for you and I’m beginning to understand how Fetterman beat out Oz last year.

Reread the thread, at no point did I declare my intent to not buy from any of the companies named.

These companies are beholden to large financial firms, if they don’t follow the narrative they don’t have financing. I’m not sure how you’re unable to connect those dots.

Advertising toward any one group is what’s ridiculous. Advertising to specific groups, gay, trans, black, white, Cuban, etc. is ridiculous. All the above-mentioned groups are PEOPLE. Stick to advertising to ALL PEOPLE instead of causing more division.

If I go to the sandwich shop down the street, should they advertise a gay sandwich, a straight sandwich, and a trans sandwich? No, they should advertise a sandwich, for everyone.

I’ve obviously made you upset.

You seriously believe Ford made a gay Raptor because of an internet troll? I wish it was that easy to get a car company to make a vehicle for a specific minority population. How about a Raptor painted red, white and blue, a Marine Corps Raptor, or even a blueline Raptor? American companies and politicians are afraid of a few screaming activists……those that scream the loudest, burn stuff down, or dance around in rainbow colors make the news. Look at SCOTUS, after some of their houses were surrounded, which nobody would want, it naturally will impact future decisions. The working stiff is too busy to protest and as such, working stiffs are boring. Someone on this thread said it perfectly, stick to making vehicles and beer! Do not pretend to care about one group, or another.

I’m not upset at all, you’re the one hinting at a lack of intelligence and using all caps.

Were you angry when they specifically advertised trucks to blue collar workers? What about those of us that aren’t? White collar workers are people too. What about when subway was advertising to people who wanted to lose weight?

You’re buying into manufactured outrage and you know it.

I just want to be left alone...
But... You joined FRF ;-)

Yes. Why do you think the Bronco up level package was named “Sasquatch” ? Because they’re big-foot-conspiracy nuts? No, to troll the infamous FRF and F150 site troll sasquatch77.

Ford does actually have a bit of a sense of humor. Sometimes. When they’re not catering to alternative lifestyles and what not.

I was wrong! However, Ford should make vehicles and not what is stated in the attachment. They had to pick alphabet soup minority group that screams weirdo. They did not make a memorial Raptor for the Marines Biden killed during the withdrawal of Kabul airport, one for cops that been murdered or even one to raise cancer awareness. They did it for a bunch of freaks just like the Bud Light ad campaign. IMHO, companies are running scared of being targeted by one of the screaming groups, so they are being proactive. Ford should not focus on “the automotive industry can foster a culture of inclusion and allyship for the LGBTO+ community.” Ford should focus on not having so many recalls. I am a simple working stiff and do not have time to wear a thong and dance in a parade. However, my family has been victimized by cancer, I feel horrible for those Marines that died on the wall in Kabul and it is tragic cops are murdered for wearing a badge. I would bet my life someone at Ford is assigned to read this forum, but because the Marines are old news, the murdered cops only make news on the day they died and cancer deaths rarely make headlines, a commemorative vehicle will not be made for any of those groups. However, because 7 year old kids are being taught in public schools to follow their sexuality, that crazy shit stays in the news and Ford wants to capitalize on the publicity, which I think is disgusting

All this talk about “Ford should stick to making trucks.”

Ford is not about making trucks, they are about making money. I’m not saying that as a negative; they’re just like every other business. If this celebration of pride helps them grow financially, of course they are going to do that. I am sure it was a very, very calculated move. Knowing they would lose some of the anti-LGBTQ+ crowd.

I am leaving my personal views out of it, because they are irrelevant to this topic.

There are many other things to which Ford should have brought attention. Why did the need to bring it to that specific demographic? Almost everyone has, or will be touched by cancer and probably very few if any would criticize a truck painted with some type of cancer theme, but no, Ford selected a rainbow.

Have you not be keeping up with what’s going on in schools? Sounds like trying to force it to me. I know you’ll say that has nothing to do with the pride stuff and the raptor, but it’s the same people behind all of it.

You know I'll say it because it's the truth. The extremists on both sides don't represent the vast majority of the middle. Guess who gets attention? What's going on in *some* schools is quite disturbing, but let's not conflate things like gender education for kindergartners with adults and some banal marketing toward **** and their existence.
A local lawn service and global automaker have very few similarities. Not a great example.

Being gay isn’t political. The reasoning behind Ford choosing to engage in woke advertising is 100% political DEI ESG bullshït.

If you want to be gay go for it, I don’t care. I just want to buy a truck without supporting anything extra.

Lol, what's the difference other than size? Just a way to dodge the harder questions. Local companies don't matter?

Is gay "woke" simply because gay? Or is "woke" the new "socialist" or "racist", just applied to anything the speaker happens to disagree with?
