I have the SPE as well. The filter was a b**** to install onto the tube, and the bungs on the bottom of the heat shield would not line up with the grommets. (I used a zip tie to secure the shield to the existing grommet hole.) However, all the factory attachments fit up with no issue, and the sound is heavenly! I also bought the AFE pro dry S filter, 21-60512, and the Filterwear prefilter, A110k. The AFE is a bit longer than the SPE and hits the white frame support in the pic, but it fits the intake tube very well and can be secured many ways using zip ties or other means. This is another option for those who want the SPE intake but are not interested in the oiled filter option. I will post another pic of the installed AFE. Regarding the coolant tube, I have about one inch of clearance. Let me know if you have any other questions, and I may can help. Cheers to my fellow R owners!

No issues with clearance between intake tube and coolant tube?

Mine makes contact with the coolant tube.

I installed my intake only a couple weeks ago but will be removing it to go back to the OEM airbox or purchasing the S&B unit. This is a great intake for street driven trucks but since I use mine as intended, I’m too concerned about the lack of protection around the filter.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that struggled with installing the SPE filter. I had to have a few choice words and let it known that I will win the install otherwise I was shipping it ass back to SPE for a refund. Lol
