Ha ha...I have a bottle of that too.
Unfortunately you have to rewax afterward.
Which probably should be done after acidic droppings anyway.
I don't know how well ceramic holds up to bird goo.
I am a wax guy.

Slides right off like S through a goose, that’s one of the benefits. Think of how awesome your truck feels when it is freshly waxed...everything just slides off the paint....that’s ceramic coat, just for a longer time.

I use Chemical guys stuff but yes the V07 sealant is good stuff and Mequiers makes a good wax.


Butter wax is good too.

So here’s what I got back from Ford today regarding my “crack”

“Cracked paint is a result of the panel being overflexed after the paint has been applied. This is only a result of impact damage and not warrantable”

I’m so annoyed. I told the dealership that I baby my truck, there has been absolutely NO impact nor any damage to the quarter panel, bumper etc. that would indicate any impact. The truck is immaculate. Really pissed that some ****** in an office probably looked at the pictures for 2 mins and made some narrow snap decision. My local dealership said their hands were tied and I may have better luck going to the dealership that I purchased the truck from and get them to contact Ford. I ended up sending an email to that dealership along with the report and pics asking for help.
Nothing like spending 100k CAD on a vehicle, experiencing a workmanship issue then being told to pretty much **** off.

Gossman95, anything further on your issue? That MUST Be impact damage. ;)

Sometimes it’s a squeaky wheel gets the grease type situation, if you stay persistent with it, they will eventually give in to keep you happy as a customer.

Refute their poor argument that is impact damage by sending them photos of the entire panel, as much as you can reasonably photograph.

Don’t be afraid to ask for the regional service reps number and talk directly to him or her.

I had a problem with a CPO BMW, dealer not wanting to cover a TSB on my car. He claimed, “original owner” only. TSB did not say that, so when the service manager paid me lip service, I got a hold of the regional service manager. 10 min on phone and 3 photos later, solved.

Remember, everyone’s got a boss. Keep (politely) demanding the next person up the chain, they’ll fix it for your eventually.

I love my Raptor, and the ones before it, but it seems like an argument each and every time. The best was a dash crack that occurred weeks after delivery. They claimed I abused the dash.

I love my Raptor, and the ones before it, but it seems like an argument each and every time. The best was a dash crack that occurred weeks after delivery. They claimed I abused the dash.

It is super unfortunate this is the stance the company seems to adopt all too frequently. Especially when you see how a company like Lexus treats its customers. I know it is a bit of an apples and oranges comparison, lux brand vs mainstream, but there needs to be a middle ground somewhere. I also have owned a ton of Fords over the years. (About 9 also) I too have noticed the customer service I received from the early 90s-early 2000s was much better.

The team that review these concerns at the corporate level are usually correct in their determination of the root cause of the issue. The times when they get it wrong are usually the result of the dealer providing bad information or submitting poor quality photos.

The decision are based off of the time that the issue was first noticed and the type of concern. They also track issues, so if they see the same “Non-warrantable” concern occuring across multiple vehicles in the same location, they will investigate with engineering and change the status of the concern to warrantable. A great example would be the 02-05 Explorer tailgate appliqué cracking; it clearly looks like impact damage, but it was actually a faulty part that affected many vehicles.

In the case of your concern, can you feel the crack with a finger nail? If so, their determination is most likely correct; however, how did the panel become overflexed without any impact damage? Are there signs of panel misalignment that may have contributed to the panel
flexing and cracking the paint? Are the fasteners that hold the panel on all present and properly torqued? This is where the dealer can go to bat for you and reply to the prior approval team with any relevant additional information that may change the decision in regards to the warrantability of the issue. As you mentioned, perhaps your selling dealer might be more supportive.

I still question the ceramic coating. Without knowing the company or type of product they applied, how can we be 100% sure it’s not a contributing factor? Maybe you can get that information from the dealer.
