Raptor in small accident, body shop or dealer?

The wife was hit by a dummy in a Tesla who wasn’t paying attention. Everyone is fine and the woman’s insurance seems to be cooperating nicely. All damage is on the drivers side: front bumper where fog lights are (inlcuding wrecking the Offroad Alliance 3 bezel light kit), part of the body around the headlight, and then they’ll have to replace the PPF and ceramic (that was just touched up 2 days prior).

Where would you take it for repair? A highly rated body shop on Yelp/Google? The dealer’s body shop?

Edit: I’m just west of Austin if anyone happens to know a place in the ATX area.

Edit 2: Nothing against Tesla, as we also have one, just drivers that don’t pay attention.

Sounds like it's going to be expensive, got any pics? Most dealers are okay, at least they will use all Ford parts, hopefully. There's a few members from your area, so hopefully they chime in.

Yea, I’m not too concerned with “fast”….between the wife’s car and a rental, we’re set. Just trying to decide if I trust the dealer’s body shop or not. I did not buy in the state, so I don’t know much about the dealers here.

I would go with a reputable body shop. Depending on the extent of the damage you might be able to score some cheap upgrades like I did.

I would choose a body shop that is in a DRP with the insurance company, that way you have a warranty from insurance. My family owns a small body shop and we warranty our work for as long as you own the vehicle. Some shops don't do this. The nice thing about the DRP warranty is that you have nationwide coverage.

I don't believe you. Teslas are self-driving so they couldn't possibly get into a wreck.

I would take the opportunity to do some upgrades. Get the body shop to get you a frame-cut bumper and +4/+4 glass. Sure beats paying for it out of pocket and will probably save them money.

Typically the dealers body shops are 10 years behind in technology training and equipment-

Really though, I had thought about ADD but not the frame-cut, just so that my wife has more protection when driving, or do I not understand frame-cut. Only other issue with the bumper is that renders my ORA bezel kit useless, right? I don’t know what +4/+4 glass is.

Update: the other woman is contesting fault, not that it affects what I do.
