If you've been on the autobahn you know that you never stay in the left lane unless you're passing someone.

Getting out into the left lane there is almost scary because you can have cars coming up on you out of nowhere (in the unlimited speed sections). It's not for the faint of heart.

You obviously haven't been out here and driven in Los Angeles. Women Prius drivers think their cars' stingy use of gasoline gives them the right to drive like Nascar drivers. Coming up the freeway on ramp they're eyeballing traffic so they can make a bee line for the left lane where they hammer it at 80 MPH.

Or they get in the left lane and do 60 because they want everyone to not go faster than them while getting good MPGs.

If you want to know why people drive so badly just go to Costco or Sam's Club and watch how people drive their shopping carts. They ignore everything and everyone and are only focused on themselves and their interests. No consideration or concerns for anyone else.

And that's at 2 MPH walking behind a massive shopping cart. Not driving a 3,000 lb. vehicle on the road.

Well, if you're the guy in the left lane, doing 160+, nobody on the autobahn really cares if you hangout in the left lane.

Yeah, every state is different. Some places in Europe take it even more serious than we do in the US. Get in the fast lane on the Autobahn without yielding...

Seems every time I get on I40 around here, there's always those damn Schneider and J.B. Hunt 18-wheelers doing a door-to-door 55mph drag race for the next 5 miles. :emotions122:

I have driven a lot of miles on the german autobahn
And once you hit 200kmh you don't have to leave the left lane as much

But don't forget the rule in europe is
Stick to the right.

With my motorbike i pass on any side if possible

With the car i have not that many issues as people thing i'm an undercover trafric cop (very common here)

And if i do i start haunting them
To the point they slowdown, and don't dare pass me
As they again think i m an undrrcover traffic cop

Its funny as hell

I remember the ass wipes blocking the left lane at 200km (and passing on the right is 'Verboten')
You can't even give them the finger (also 'Verboten')

Ok if you can pass on the right
Then there was enough space
So he should have moved
But there are just a handfull that do 200+

Maybe in Holland, not in Germany.
I remember slowing down to 200 only if conditions demanded or speeds were restricted.

Only 130 for the 'Niederlander'?
Well, take it easy on the way to the border :)
My best in Germany was on a long slightly downhill stretch: 310 in a 512TR

My best dutch speed was 280

Germany was 5 hours of gasstation to gasstation
On the revlimiter going to austria sowhere in the 320 range

Remember : Speed is nothing without controle

Not owning a raptor yet
But i know my passive offensive drivestyle would suite it well here on the tight streets of europe
