Well I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in here. All four of my shocks were leaking after only 1 year and about 10,000 miles. Maybe 1000 miles off road. I decided to rebuild them myself this time and one of the rear shocks had the seal folded over and one of the front shocks the bypass was upside down. These were rebuilt through the exchange program. If I hadn't bought all the equipment to do them myself this time I would have sent them to Fox for a rebuild. I don't think I'd trust anyone else to do them. I mean 50% of the shocks that were rebuilt for me were done incorrectly. This is just my experience and opinion so take it for what it's worth.

I just got my shocks put on from GJ Motorsports up in Chicago. They responded right away and had shocks ready to go in a weeks time. They do the exchange just like the other guys. Shipped to me in a couple days with a prepaid label to ship my shocks back. Truck rides like a brand new truck now and they claim to stand behind their work...hopefully I won’t have to test that though.

Just another shout out to GJ Motorsports in Chicago, 6000 miles and no issues, truck works like a raptor again. My Forged Off-Road rebuilt shocks were never right and leaked in a month, don't waste your money on there program. And I did send an email to forged asking to make it right and they declined.

Hey guys. I just started looking at this thread since I’m looking to have my shocks rebuilt. I was planning to send mine to forged, but after seeing some of the reviews I’m hesitant. Who’s had a good or bad experience with any of the rebuilders out there? I’ve been looking at Texas shock works, GJ, or maybe just sending them to fox. I don’t off-road to heavily but would still like the flutter stack and viton seals. So I’m curious to hear your experiences

Thanks

I have 19000 miles on my GJ rebuilt shocks and they have been flawless so far. No leaks and still perform like new.

Did this group handle your first rebuild? I had the same experience only mine lasted under 10k with zero offroad miles. The oil was jet black and low without leaking. The flutter stack shins were installed in the wrong order on both front shocks. The rear shocks are in the same condition yet can’t be rebuilt because this group either cross threaded the cylinder head or put loctite on it. This group screwed me out of a cool $1000 and sent me absolute garbage shocks. It’s been absolute hell for my vehicle and these guys don’t give two ***** about any complaints coming their way. I’d recommend rebuilding yourself or finding an actual shock specialist to handle the rebuilds.

"...they make you use paypal friends and family."

That is so they do not have to pay a fee to Paypal to receive your money.

They made everyone use Friends and Family via PayPal so you have zero recourse to dispute the charges after they send you a set of horribly “rebuilt” shocks. Complete scam.

I had just bough the truck and the shocks were shot. One thing I am wondering now is what I actually have for a shim stack. I paid extra for them to upgrade them for washboard roads but based on the rest of the work done I am wondering what's really in there. I did not know what they were supposed to look like and left them as they were when I rebuilt them. I was able to find a set of front shocks cheap and when I need to rebuild again those will go in, I'll be curious to see what the difference is.

Alex @ Texas Shock Works did a fantastic job on my raptor
Installed them no problem
Very considerate, took great care in shipping my rebuilt shocks and refunded my deposit within a week of receiving my old cores
Woudnt hesitate to use them again

"Complete scam" except we have literally thousands of happy satisfied customers...and a few loud(funny how that works) unhappy ones.

We gave you the opportunity to work with us to get this sorted out(and I can guarantee we would have fixed it all at no cost if they were really as bad as you say, funny how you wouldn't send them to us though) and YOU chose not to and went elsewhere, that's on you.

There is no company out there that would "give two ***** about your complaints" after that.

I had a great experience with Forged offroad. No complaints here. Everything was quick and I got exactly what I expected.
