I just did the same thing, I also re-read the whole thread and ended up wondering WTF he was talking about!

We need a put out a call to video the Raptor Assault that @Oldfart attends. Because Raptor Assault is like the opposite of Las Vegas;

what happens at Raptor Assault didn’t really happen unless there’s video proof and it definitely doesn’t stay in Utah.

I'm going in May. Funny how much many of the comments sound like they could be about shooting classes I've taken. Even if you're pretty good, you typically will pick up a few tips you didn't know before, or find you have 1 or 2 bad habits you didn't know about, you get to pick the trainers brain a little bit, and you have fun.

I've been to Raptor Assault and I've been to a lot of shooting courses, and your analogy is spot on. I know all the fundamentals of shooting, and even have a fair bit of experience. Does it ever hurt me to hear the fundamentals taught again? To hear them taught a different way? To practice the fundamentals? Of course not! This makes me a better shooter!

Same with Raptor Assault. I enjoyed the presentation of off-road racing fundamentals and then trying to execute those fundamentals on the course. I also enjoyed thrashing someone else's truck in the Utah countryside. Everybody gets to decide whether the cost is worth it to them, but anybody who didn't get much out of Raptor Assault probably wasn't looking to get much out of Raptor Assault.

Can you just imagine being paired with @Oldfart in the same truck for the entire day at RA?? It would be an unforgettable experience! What a hoot!!

I see that now. My problem is that I've been going to BLM land for so long that when I see BLM, I think of Bureau of Logging and Mining even when it's not. And I'm sure that @Oldfart had a similar problem, thinking of Blonde Lesbians Mating ...
