Thank you for the information! Very informative as I am going at the end of this month. Can't wait! Bringing the wife for the weekend and staying in SLC. She will spa while I attend the event. Easiest compromise I could come up with. Little more expensive that way but at least she can't say I never take her anywhere. LOL!
I spent the day before out in Park City, UT. lots of bars, shopping and restaurants and the drive out is pretty visually stunning.

Are you saying there is possibly a Prius Assault?

Good writeup OP.
As a matter of fact, they call it “pacing” or hypermiling. Groups of them will go out and occupy interstates, HOV lanes, etc and set the cruise to variously impeding speeds. Around DC metro they used 57mph.

I managed to find these road hogs on my Ducati one day and they were maddeningly selfish. They had a formation of 15 or more, staggered formation, exactly 2 car lengths between them in the 2x HOV lane stretch of I95, 8mph under the limit.

If I do manage to score a new Raptor again, definitely going to R/A again, looks like they’ve made it even more fun.

Great info. Thanks!! I am in the planning stages of setting my date for the course. Any suggestions on the best months to shoot for weather-wise?

I thought about that, been there many times and love it, but that is quite the commute. Is Tooele a dump or do most of the participants stay there?

Tbh when I looked on a map and saw how close SLC was, it didn’t make sense to stay in the smaller town especially when I’m flying in and out of SLC anyway. I stayed downtown SLC at the AC hotel (Marriott rewards guy) and just drove out to the center every day. It was only about 25-30 minutes and I needed a rental car to get from the airport anyway.

All in all, it was a fun trip. The drive out to park city was quick too, 45 minutes I think. You can easily drive out there for dinner one night and back into the city without issue.

Glad to see they keep making improvements to the course year after year. Goes to show you how much they care about the course and the feedback they receive. I went in October 2020 and wished there was an instructor ride along to show you how far you can push it (before flipping lol).

Agree with all the OPs comments. Stopping in Moab was the highlight of my Raptor Assault trip…
