I opted out of the plastic POS bed extender that comes with the Raptor. I need to get a proper extender and ramp for my bike.

Has anyone installed one yet? I was thinking of getting one of the extenders that also works as a ramp.

had I known how crappy the extender was I'd have never gotten it. Anyone want to buy an extender?

I am curious why the bed extender is getting such a bad review in this thread. Has it broken, come apart. color faded?

I am curious to know the facts or are these just opinions? It looks like a well engineered part and has worked for the most part for me. My only issue is when I had my bed so full I couldn't get it to latch together.

Just curious if you could elaborate on your experiences.

Thank you,

I bought a used ford one cheap and its been flawless but I'm not hauling dirt bikes or anything. Mostly just building materials when I use it

I personally like the factory bed extender. I've had to use it a few times. It's not something that you'll need everyday but when you do need it, you know that it will be there, tucked away, out of the way. ymmv.

It is designed for town use. Flowers It works good for that. The main reason I got it was to hold my 4 wheeler in or help. It doesn't even come close if it was squared it might. This is my first extender. I have used it to keep stuff at the back of the truck LP tanks flowers/trees and for that purpose it work's flawless. But back to the OP it dose not work for securing big items that are 5 foot or longer and more than 2 foot wide.

I spoke out of line when saying crappy. I had never seen an extender and had pictured in my head a more squared off design. I'm basically pissed it didn't work for my main needs. I need an extender for my extender.

I felt the factory extender looked cheap as well as the factory step with handle. I elected not to add them when I ordered my truck.

First of all. HELL of a thread revival by showerfan lol. Actually thanks. Interested here as well.

I am actually good with the factory piece. At the same time would like to know about heavier duty alternatives out there.

Interested in recommendations of members here. Any links or pics of the square extenders of choice? Even more interested in knowing what ramp systems people here use. The extender/ramp thing is new for this newbie. Will search.
