Has anyone had any issues with their warranty work with the 5 star and intake setup? Obviously one could put the stock intake back on and re-flash the ecu to stock, but that would show up in the pcm reading, but are the dealers out there being sticklers on this, or can you still have your warranty validated? My truck is still on order, but I would like to wake it up once it arrives, just hate to waste a brand new warranty if the dealerships will not tolerate such a simple bolt-on setup.

You should love it...really wakes up the truck...lets us know what you think?

All I can say is WOW! What a night and day difference... The truck is a whole new monster now. The intake also sounds great!

In order for the dealer to void your warranty, I believe they would have to prove that whatever modifications you have done to the truck are the cause of the problem.

If something happened to my truck, I would flash the ecu back to stock and take it in. Granted, they could probably find out if you had a tune on the truck if they dug deep enough, but why would they? And an intake most likely won't cause any part of the truck to break/fail.

Glad to hear you like the 5Star and Intake...I agree with you as far as voiding a warranty...

I would definitely flash back to stock and put the stock air intake back in. Would be less hassle to deal with for service/warranty work.

I love my 91 performance tune from 5 Star.

Quick word of caution... be prepared for the truck to drive and shift like complete crap for about 100 miles. It's going to be ALL OVER THE PLACE and act like it has no idea what to do... because it actually has no idea what to do.

This is how it is supposed to act at first. Don't be scared. Let it learn, and put it through it's paces. Drive it how you intend to drive it daily so the cpu can relearn how to react. My mpg went down to about 9 at first, because the rpms were all over the place, but it made a slow climb back to 12.6 (I was 12.8mpg stock).
