Of course Randy and Greg are the experts on this, but I believe I've read older posts that it's pretty much impossible to track yourself. You would have to get your dealer to do it, and even then the tracking info may not be accurate or up to date. The best thing you can do Pork is get a pot of coffee, several cans of pork and beans (pardon the pun) and some binoculars and go stake out your dealer 24/7 until you see the transporter roll up with your truck on the back!

Most dealers can track the vehicle on the railcar. The information is quite limited, there is no hour by hour tracking.
The vehicle is scanned onto a railcar and loaded. Then they create a waybill listing all 8-10 vehicles assigned to that railcar, and send it to the railroad.
The railroad comes and picks up loaded railcars creating a train. The trainmaster creates a train consists (containing all railcar numbers and vins) and the train departs.

As the train rolls down the tracks it is scanned by rfid scanners by certain mileposts, updating trains location and consists. Once the train arrives at unloading facility, the ground crew writes every railcar number, and compares it to the consist to verify the railcars. Once verification occurs, the consist updated and the waybills are downloaded from Ford updating the vehicles have arrived at ramp.

Once that happens the railcars are opened and each vehicle is matched with waybill and assigned a parking locations. The drivers unchain the vehicles and drive them to the assigned parking locations.

After all vehicles are unloaded, the manifest reconciled informing Ford the vehicles arrived and ready for Allied/Randy/sierra mountian/jack cooper to pick up.

Now after that long explaination. The only time te dealer can see information is any vehicle scans (loaded, unloaded, ready to ship) also using the railcar number to contact railroad to get location and status.

So from shipping scan to ready for delivery scan there might only be 4-5 timestamps during transportation.

Hope that answers your question, if I will trying to explain it better..

My last delivery date from SVT was Jan 2 after about 4 date changes... and to stay consistent, I just yesterday got a call from my dealership that the railways "get all screwed up during the holiday season" and now my delivery date is 1/10....ok, the blame game is on.

On a positive note, I'll focus on trying to make the decision about how to cover my bed. Currently bedrug is the direction I'm leaning. I wonder if they make a heated pad I could insert under the rug... kidding.. uh for the most part :)
