Is there a way to pull up the oil life monitor, or is it just an idiot light that will pop up at some point? I see in the menu how to reset it, but I would have thought you could view it also. My Chevy gives me a percentage of oil life left. Thanks.

On my 17’ it’s under engine info, it will tell you percentage left

I just went and checked again. I don't see it under engine info. There's engine hours, engine idle hours, no oil life. I found a video for a few years older truck and it showed it displayed with the engine hours screen. I found the oil life reset button, but no oil life monitor. Maybe it's gone back to just a change oil reminder?

The FordPass app has an oil life monitor percentage. Gives you some other stats too like tire pressure, gas tank lvl/fuel range, vehicle gps location and it will throw vehicle alerts at you.

Thanks, I guess that's where it got moved to. I had downloaded it. but never used it for anything yet. I did get an alert from it while my truck was at the detailer telling me my alarm had gone off.

So, you have to have the truck on, but engine off. Push start button without foot on brake. On the instrument cluster, go to settings, engine, then click oil life and it will show percentage.

I checked two days ago because I just got a full synthetic change at the dealer and the FordPass App was still showing 8% life because it hadn’t updated yet and I wanted to be sure they had reset the OLM.

I had to reset it myself after the dealer changed my oil.

I just changed my oil. When I went to reset the monitor, it told me how much I had left. Can't remember if it was upfront, or between the select and confirm. Probably the latter. I had 49% left at 5300 miles, so it looks like straight mileage.

It’s not. I got my 2018 on 12/17 and have just over 19k miles. I take frequent short trips - moral of the story is my oil life meter has me change about every 5k miles. Now obviously there is no black stone lab in the truck (just sent my latest sample to them) but it obviously takes other factors into account other than just pure mileage.
