So you would not recommend checking the shocks often with a no loss gauge like the one mentioned above?

You still lose enough to drop pressure 50 psi in an average sized shock. Zero loss only works when it's backed with nitrogen at 200, and you want 200 in the shock.
You screw out the chuck's screw that activates the Schraeder valve's plunger, then unscrew the chuck from the stem, zero loss on disconnect.
When you connect it, you lose nitrogen pressurizing the chuck and guage. If you check it like this without filling, you'll eventually have no nitrogen pressure.
