Progressive springs my experience.

the statement below scares me. Guys buying 3.0s and then switching back to stock because 3.0s was too stiff.

...folks who had Fox 3.0's are switching back to the stock Fox shocks and going with these springs and enjoying the ride much more.

There is a reason Ford went with 2.5's. They handle off-road terrain decent enough for the majority of people and they are cushy on the road. 3.0's is a big step with your suspension and when it's coupled with the other mods generally associated with 3.0's (UCA's, Tie Rods, Rear Springs, Bump Stops) you're getting closer and closer to making your truck a race truck (obviously not a race truck, but you get where I'm going with this). 3.0's aren't designed to be super cushy on the road, especially the ones Raptor owners buy. They are designed to allow you to go faster off-road and take even bigger hits than what the stock setup is capable of.

If you're OK with that, 3.0's are great. If you want cushy ride, 2.5's and progressive springs all around is the way to go. At least this is the way it's been explained to me by a handful of people.

@Raptor911 did you get some 3.0's? Like others are saying...for hardcore off-roading, I'm sure the 3.0's are awesome. For me, the stockers are amazing and fit all my wants and needs. Seems to be a decision of whether your going for extreme off-road capability or damn good off-road capability and on road comfort. Don't get 3.0's for on road comfort. Kinda like buying a Lamborghini and wanting more trunk space. Not talking shit because I went the more weenie way if you want to say, I just daily drive my truck and want that on road comfort

@Raptor911 Cool, Im planning on Deavers also. I think the "comfort" way to go is these Gieser Bros progressive fronts and the progressive Deaver leafs in back. To me, it makes sense that both sets front and back have progressive springs. From what I know...progressive equals comfort. Again, for someone doing hardcore off-roading...Id still tell them to do the 3.0's. They are $5,000 as opposed to these springs at $500...but I know that you get a lot more capability and comparing the two is apples and oranges. Im glad that for my needs and wants, the $500 option made more sense. But obviously, to each there own. Good Luck on your decision

Wonder what the stock front shocks w/springs and rear 3.0's w/ an aftermarket leaf pack would perform like? I've always heard the stock front is much better than the rear out of the box.

One member told me in a PM..."I also installed the stock rear shocks at this time because I couldn't put up with all the clicking from the 3.0's by pass valves."

I haven't heard many people complain at all about the rear shocks after putting in Deavers. I could be wrong. Im planning on getting Deavers soon, so I should know before long but don't foresee any desire for that...but then again, I do not do extreme off roading, just have some fun with it but nothing too serious

the rear end will feel totally different with new leafs. Makes you wonder how you drove the truck stock. I can fly through whoop sections now that the stockers would fall apart on. I am very intrigued by these new springs, and hope to get a set soon.

Cody. If there is anyone that would appreciate 3.0's on a Raptor, it would be you. I try to talk most people out of it but you need them, trust me.:driver:

I have that exact setup right now, but I haven't been able to really test it out yet with the new coil springs, but I can tell you that with the stock front springs set at mid perch the rear out performs the front. I have the RPG stage 3 with rear fox 3.0s and national SD springs. Any time I get any kind of air or hit a set of whoops you can notice how fast the rear end settles down while the front is still bouncing up and down.which I understand is a dampening issue that can only be fixed with some type of shock upgrade, but with the little bit of time that I have had with the new coils installed (on bottom perch) I have noticed slightly less pogoing. Is it a huge differnece... No but for me and my mild off-roading I feel that it was a good 500 dollars spent. I should be able get some more testing time in once my rear springs get redone and I fix a tierod, but that's another story.
