I took mine to the dealer, as my IDS doesn’t have “locksmith” access, sales guy set it up, had 2 spare remotes done, Gave the mechanic $50 to say he never saw me.

Just an addition to this thread, 'regular' F150 fobs work as well. I purchased a used F150 'platinum' key fob from ebay for $30, and programmed it based on the forum suggestions in under 2 minutes. Fob fully worked, incl start and tailgate. I then dissected the used fob down to just a circuit board and battery, shrink wrapped it, and now keep it in my wallet for true keyless entry.

I like the platinum shiney buttons more, I ended up installing the used platinum button tree on my main raptor key set.

Have you already changed the battery ?

Nope I haven’t. I checked and found it had a battery and the indicator blinks red when trying to remote start as in “failed or error to remote start” so I assumed battery life should be good. Will buy a new one and try to see if its a battery issue as my 2017 keys have different sizes so can’t swap.

I like that idea.. how bulky is just the circuit board and battery? Any issues with it pressing any of the "buttons" while in your wallet?

Update: I changed the battery and tried to reprogram it, programed successfully. However, key is still not working. I don't know what seems the problem

Keys programmed! The process needs to be fairly quick, a key programmer I spoke with said the entire process needs to be completed within 30 seconds
