Gain .6 MPG on this test with 93 vs 87. (Along other the other various items)

So you get 633 per tank at 93 vs 612 with 87.

With my local price, $33 a tank per savings going with 87 over 93. Add the 1.3 gallons the 93 does in savings, and it would be $27.75 per tank. Lifetime savings of $14,430 (tank a week for 10 years). YMMV, but it’s all how you calculate and what you want. You can run a min 87 and it’s not exactly a high performance engine, otherwise they wouldn’t give you the option. The recommended however per the manual is 91+ Especially for hot weather or trailering. ABB5412D-8147-4AB9-B89C-5F6C24EB2670.jpeg

Kirkland Signature Top Tier, 93 Octane (Costco). Great gas, and generally lower priced than anyone else around. On July 13th, 2022, 93 octane was $4.32 a gallon in the N. Dallas area. Shell is the closest comparison in town, and they charge $5.20/gal for 93 octane. Big difference indeed.

It's a performance vehicle and if you're running anything other than 93 to pinch some pennies...
Then maybe performance vehicles arent for you

I put in 85, use water for wiper fluid, only put in 78% Nitrogen in the tires, 5$(Each) for my wipers and I don’t put more than 10 gallons in the truck at a time to save $$ and weight. Changed the tires to 17” steelies and……. ZERO AC no matter how hot!!!!!

You cannot afford a truck like this with frivolous spending on 9X octane gas. That’s why you spread the payments over 84 months(at sticker)!!!!

87 where I am is 4.04 a gallon and 93 is 4.95. But when I tested it was 4.26

So the 3.78 gallons I need at $4.26 is $16.10

Meaning, gas mileage wise, it’s cheaper to use 87. If you save $10 for the same mileage (not saying it’s a lot or worth it) over the life of a vehicle it would equate to about $5200.

The idea wasn’t what one could afford but what someone was putting into it. If you all believe you can feel 15-17 more Hp in your ass Dyno of a 6000# truck, more power to you (literally) but would hardly think you will be able to feel it.

Plus it’s an $80K lol it’s not a hot rod or an exotic by any stretch. I hope this isn’t the most powerful vehicle you own or even your prized possession
From the manual. “For best overall vehicle and engine performance, premium fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher is recommended.” So if you're going to run shit fuel against factory recommendation, might as well use bargain basement oil and NAPA pro $5.99 oil filters as well?

"Plus it’s an $80K lol it’s not a hot rod or an exotic by any stretch. I hope this isn’t the most powerful vehicle you own or even your prized possession" What a f**ked up thing to say?

Why? It's true. It's a blue-collar prize. It's a mildly gussied up F150 .... I love mine, but I don't really want a true exotic, and I don't care what anyone else thinks. I guess I'm still a farm boy. :p
