If you're a boomer, that's true. But the newer generations think that climate change is a crisis. They're too young to know that there's always a convenient crisis because a crisis is an excuse for stupidity. It could be that my crisis trumps your vague fears. I honestly can't remember the last time I read about how evil nuclear power was. Fukushima, I guess, but that turned out to be NBD. Chernobyl? More of a big deal, but hidden from view by the Russians. And that was nearly forty years ago. Three mile island? I'll bet more than half of the voting public has never heard of it.That's good to really hard to overcome. Nuclear has had decades of bad press, and people remember. It's going to take quite a few Hollywood movies to turn that around.
LOL Can you imagine the whining that would go on here? My ears are ringing already.Ford should make it invite only so just elite people can get one. That way, the peasants won't even be tempted to stretch their budgets.
There are going to be some who get priced out the market, but most will not.
A grass hut on a Caribbean beach with a bottle of Run is looking good about now.The wild card is nuclear power. Everyone with a brain on both sides agrees that it's the greenest source of energy we have. If we can implement it quickly, it could completely change the equation. Personally, I'm a cynic and I think that the Federal and State bureaucracies will slow everything to a crawl just to demonstrate how important they are. But maybe climate change hysteria will motivate them. Our whole world is so crazy complex these days that making any sort of prediction is a wild ass guess.

You're sounding like a Frenchman.... with a bottle of Run ....
But ... space. We need nuclear power for space. Whoever controls space can pretty much control everything down below. The climate crisis can be used as the excuse to rapidly develop the tech we need for something else. Wheels within wheels within wheels. However, do the powers can gain a lot more money by pushing solar panels and windfarms than they can nuclear power, without the risk of bad press and accidents.
Bribem’s red headed spokesperson said they fully plan to replace oil - with solar and wind. Hence, without saying it they fully plan on letting oil prices go thru the roof and watching the economy tank. Expect Bribem to say something similar in the SOTU address tomorrow.
