Raptizzle, thanks for the info. I'm probably worrying too much about it but I'm working the seam all the way up to the fender brace. Just a body hammer and some forearm muscles like Popeye. I'll post some pics of mine when done just for reference. BTW, I'd kill for those fender wells! Nice work!

Trimming the firewall is not a necessity, at least in my opinion and with my setup. I'm running 17" methods and 37" grabbers. I do rub on the front on full turns only when the front end is compressed. Nothing major though.
.

Strange. I've seen 37 Grabbers cut to shit by the pinch weld on the firewall?! Just a big slice all the way around the tire where it hits under compression with the steering centered/straight. The truck was running stock Foxes and UCAs too. Confusing. It almost seems like there are (not so) slight differences in each truck. I think I'll continue on with my belt and suspenders type firewall mod. If mine rubs I'll have to recess the firewall! Again, thanks for the info!

Happy to share my experiences. The best way we're all gonna figure out what mods work and what doesn't is to go beat on the trucks a bit and report back. R&D FRF style!!

Wow, hadn't heard of tires getting shredded from that but I guess with the right variables in line, it could happen. Hearing that makes me a little more motivated to get to trimming...

Now I'm not 100% sure that this was from the pinch weld. I know that is what someone said but it doesn't look like it would line up. Here's the pic anyway.
