Funny because that contradicts everything being said by industry leaders publicly.
Please enlighten us.
They are saying the exact same thing they have been saying for the last three years, and it’s been be ever since!
China has been shut down the last six months.
It takes five years and billions of $ to launch new fabs and longer to bring chips into mass production.

If that wasn’t true, I have a new Raptor in my garage.

I just looked at inventory level charts and they are all at all time lows and saying it’s going to stay that way for the next coupe years.

yeah right, they aren’t getting chips for years, I’m in the industry.

My dealer just told me today they were informed they wont be building their alllcations this year at all now and are refunding me my deposit.
Are multiple dealers saying this?
I ordered in October, they had an allocation, kind of fed up with all of it, not sure what to do.
Find another dealer…

I haven’t seen industry leaders make promises for years. It’s been pretty clear for a while that improvements wouldn’t be seen for some time and only earlier this year statements were made about catching up.

Most chips are made outside of China with the largest production being in Taiwan.

Most vehicles don’t use the latest and great chips and moreso use tested and true technology. So news fabs wouldn’t affect most production vehicles.

For someone who is “in the industry” you really sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’m not the one that said industry leaders were making promises and I know chios come from Taiwan, but it sounds like you are clueless about about how we get them.

Supply is limited and the additional fab capacity isn’t about new tech libs, it’s about capacity and non reliance on constrained capacity in Taiwan. It’s not just chips, I know people who waited 9 months on parts for repairs, as well.

Though, they are porting new. ehicle chips to newer tech libs because that makes sense going forward especially for new technology.

So far everything is happening exactly the way I said it would almost 3 years ago, exactly!

YOU: "I’m not the one that said industry leaders were making promises"
PREVIOUS YOU: "They are saying the exact same thing they have been saying for the last three years, and it’s been be ever since!"

AGAIN YOU: "China has been shut down the last six months."
PREVIOUS YOU: "I know chios come from Taiwan"

The conversation was based on chip production and not supply chain since you since you were "in the industry".

Statement from someone actually in the industry and not just claiming to be in it.
Statement from intel CEO. Some semiconductors (mostly new types) will see issues into 2024 but some others are close to meeting demand.
I’m already seeing a higher number of Raptors incoming then just a month or two ago.

“[W]e believe the overall semiconductor shortage will now drift into 2024, from our earlier estimates in 2023, just because the shortages have now hit equipment and some of those factory ramps will be more challenged,” he told CNBC on Friday.

But while that sounds a little doom-y and gloom-y, you should know that the “chip shortage” is an involved, evolving situation that doesn’t affect every kind of chip at every time. Some industries and some kinds of parts have been worse hit than others as things go on. In fact, Intel’s own chips are doing fairly well. “For the first time in years, Intel fabs and our substrate supply are close to meeting our customers’ demand,” Gelsinger said yesterday on the company’s Q1 2022 earnings call.”

Yes supply chain is backed up too and with time that will get better. Six months from now we'll be at better place then we are now given nothing else stupid happens.

you obviously are not following what i said, someone else said the chip situation is improving and it’s the same people that have said for the last two years that “the chip shortage would end next quarter”, and it’s been bs the whole time!
I said it would be 3 to five years and I am not wrong, been developing asics 30 years
