Update time:

Been working on building the fuel cell cradle, not really looking forward to the hours of welding still needed.

Have to pause on connecting it to the truck until i get the new lower link mount on the axle done. And i want to hold up a bedside to see if it needs to move and inch one way or the other.

Some fun new developments. I have decided to cut out the old 1.5” cage and upgrade to a legal size 4130 2” cage.

The frame side rear pivots were come to find half welded and then overall poor design, so those got cut off and working on the replacements now. These will tie directly in to the frame and cage and be a landing point for the back half. Overall a much stronger platform.

I also locked in the latest and great jehc center mount files. Parts will be going to laser and machining in the coming weeks.

Oh and big news I finally scored some coilovers. All brand new, coated black, finned resi 3.5x16 rear and 3.0x14 front. FYI a 3.5 coilover is just insanely large here it sits next to a 4.5 bypass…

Please don't make the cage out of 4130. I know of a older Trophy Truck that had a 4130 cage and it cracked on impact. It pierced the occupants inside the truck and a death occurred. I was told to use DOM for a cage as you want it to give and not fracture.
that is interesting... i will ask the cage designer about it.
