Built out one of the bedside cages today. I figure I’ll build it out to be sufficient for now and will continue to add for strength at a later point. I’m tempted to throw some white primer on the truck cab just to see is all one color hha

the cages were pretty fun to build. Once the bedside was all lined up I tacked in two tubes front and back then pulled the bedside off and added the rest, full weld and coat of paint.

bedside looked too god to not continue onto starting the taillight. Taillight fit pretty good but will need some cleanup to have a nice even seam.

overal very happy with the Mcniel fiberglass. F8EFBE20-B719-43FF-858F-041DD711B7A4.jpeg03989BDF-01BB-4787-AEA4-9C29F75AC5C4.jpeg181E7131-FF4D-4AB7-B6BE-FA933494D384.jpeg76CDCF7C-DA15-4F87-AE8C-183EC8A60E26.jpeg

Finally tackled the upper cage bars where they go into the cab. Was not happy with the way it was sealed before so I cleaned it all up made some cover plates.

I welded the plates in with silicon bronze and used thin gauge steel for the plate itself to help reduce chance of cracking.

went ahead and ground the high spots down and filled with body filler. Overall it’s much better than what is was before. I’m a littler nervous about the filler cracking one day but I’m thinking about wrapping the roof in a CF pattern wrap when it’s all doneECEDD7ED-6D6C-499A-A6B7-725BB7F1B696.jpeg8D7D32D4-B07E-41F6-88A3-FEBD18F10F02.jpeg4891B94B-ECEE-4B2D-9C26-A42F37D78555.jpeg20758B37-7BCE-46CC-88FD-EE40F171B549.jpeg
