This is quite common on a lot of brands and models of SUV's and trucks. Back when I was still able to physically work on vehicles, I replaced them in a good number of Chevy's and Fords. There are two main issues I have found with them. Either the mode actuator motor goes out and no longer has the oomph to actually keep the door open, or the hinge on the side of the door breaks and it is left flap flap flapping along. As stated, it isn't a "hard" fix, but it is very time consuming if it turns out that it is the upper actuator and not the lower. the part isn't that expensive, it is the labor that kills you at the dealership if it isn't still covered under warranty.

I do have to agree with Boss Hoss, I really like my Raptor, but it has the worst AC I have ever had in a truck. To the point I was actually wondering if something might be wrong with it until I began seeing so many others with the same complaint.

Spoke to the service guy...he said there are two (an upper and lower) one. The lower one can be changed without removing the dash while the upper one cannot. Price is about $250 for lower and $700 for the upper. He also said that these are common failures and covered by warranties.

Just an FYI for anyone who didn't know.

So did you get it fixed? my 2011 has that sound behind the navigation area, but a week ago, there is another similar sound behind the actual dash. I'm not sure if the sound behind the dash is related to the AC. I think the one benind the navigation is related to the AC. Let us know if it is fixed, did AC quality get better? Do you know if they fixed both upper and lower?

I have not yet. My warranty would not cover it I was told. I have not noticed any difference in AC quality. Have not needed the heat yet.

Knock on wood!

Will tell you this on the "door" issue if mine starts popping again after replacing it once already I will just go trade it in. The Raptor is a nice truck but it does have issues.

I have done a Driveshaft, Moon Roof, wiring harness issue plug, blending door issue, seat heater dead, drivers side window switches, still have the worst AC in any truck I have ever had. Have 61k on the Raptor now which is not a primary driver any longer replaced by the Jeep. I just need another year till the new Ford or maybe go back to Chevy.

Just like to say I've had my 6.2 2010 for three years this month and have not had a single issue with it! The A/C will freeze me out on the hotest day if I don't turn it down. I've had none of the issues stated above (knock on wood).
