Pop Up Bed Rail Tie Downs

I bought some bedrail tie downs the go into the stake pockets that are hidden under the rail caps (had to cut out the plastic) and after torqueing them down it has made sort of a low spot in the bed rail due to compressing the ribs of plastic underneath.....I will post up some pics in a few after I get a beer

Question is: Can I space it up with something so the tie down has something to tighten on to? Anybody even encounter this before?

Yes, There is a thread on here somewhere, I will try to find it, where someone installed these and used thr scrap plastic for the spacers.

You have to put spacers under the cut outs, the factory bed caps that have the pockets molded in are recessed down so this dont happen.

Sorry but seriously why would you continue to tighten the bolts and watch the rail bend ??
