Relative to the Shelby Baja 700, I have less restriction on both the intake and exhaust side and I'm one pulley size down. So I think it's closer to 750. And I don't think it's adequate. I think it's overkill. But I like that. If/when the factory short block gets tired on me, I plan to go bigger displacement and do the heads and cams.

I'm really glad you're happy with your truck. I think they're awesome. Ford made a lot of improvements they learned by watching this forum. And if they ever put a V8 in it again (admittedly looking unlikely these days) I'd love to park a new white one next to my current black one.

I just don't know why people have to get all weird and defensive and start talking about ***** and butts and circlejerks and ************ when people complain about the terrible exhaust note, which the aftermarket isn't going to be able to fix.

That's nut's man. lol...and yeah, probably overkill.

And please don't get too caught up in the mental ************ comment. Point is that, for me, at the end of the day I feel like I'd be biting my nose to spite my face if I were to sacrifice having what to me is a better (stock) truck just to keep the sound. That's all. Honestly man, I wasn't expecting it to even sound as good as it does. We've had everything from an Audi RS4 (V8) to a BMW M-Coupe (V6) to a Toyota FJ Cruiser. The Audi was a monster and sounded the part but the M-coupe didn't sound as good but was bad-ass as well. As long the it performs as it should, I'm good. I'll work on the sound later

One correction... BMW is not a V-6, they make straight-6.

Holy.......man to get REALLY technical, it's an iron-block inline 6 with an aluminum head. BMW repurposed that engine from the previous generation M3 and stuck it in the M-coupe and the M-Roadster. But for the sake of this thread and to NOT get into symantics.....a f#%ing V6!! I think people got the picture. Thanks though

I don't think it's semantics. I think it's an important distinction. To me, the straight 6 sounds a little better. And overall it's a much better engine design. It produces more torque sooner and it's also inherently a smoother engine. The material the block and head is made out of doesn't have an impact on either of those things.

The 60 degree V6 to me is basically good for one thing. It's the most efficient way to put a relatively large engine (mounted transversely) in front wheel drive passenger cars like the Honda Accord. Outside of that application I don't have much use for one. That said, I will admit that if they get the looks of the new body on frame Bronco right I will settle for an EB 3.5. I do hope they slip a 5.0 in there, though. That would be sweet and I am 100% buying one if they do.

Have you found a solution??

Just got the 2017 today..Love everything but the exhaust note...

I don't know if it'll ever sound great to a mainstream audience but it depends on what you like. Personally I'll be adding a couple straight through mufflers to quiet it down the best I can without restricting performance. Now if it sounded like a Nissan GTR (even though that's not a truck sound to most) I'd love an aftermarket exhaust. GTR's sound great with exhaust. But I think the firing order might prohibit achieving a GTR like tone seeing as they're both roughly 3.5L (GTR 3.8L) and wear a pair of turbos and sound nothing alike.

Nissan: 123456
Ford EB: 142536

The muffle from the turbos will prevent that sound but you are right they sound cool as hell

100%

saying an I6 is basically the same as V6 is ridiculous. They sound totally different, perform totally different, etc. I6 FTW.

But they both have6 cylinders.
