Anyone that wants them, I have sold a good number of kits for the Gen 2 already, (between 30-40 kits so far this year) and have heard good things about the perceived better braking. Although, stainless lines would help as well, they are still in development.

I have the Gen 2 brake package from R1Concepts listed on my website at the link below and if you use promo code MOTHERSDAY20 during checkout, receive 20% off and free shipping to the lower 48. International shipping available.

https://www.freedommotorsportsraptorstore.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1126_1128_1370

I also offer a BBK from R1Concepts with 6 piston calipers in the front, 4 piston in the rear, two piece floating rotors, stainless lines, performance pads and the ability to color match the center hats with the calipers in a wide variety of painted and anodized colors for less than $4500 out the door for a full front and rear kit.

Could not help but notice you state "perceived better braking". Does this mean they essentially work/act the same?

After looking closer I'm guessing they aren't worth the $4500.

No offense, but you can tell the value of a BBK from "stock pictures"? When other BBK's available for the Raptor run from between $6-9K for a full front and rear kit, the BBK from R1Concepts is definitely worth the price for those that want a BBK

No, it means that every person is different and "feels" things differently. I have quite a few customers with Gen2's that say they can tell a big difference while I had one customer that said he couldn't tell a difference. That being said, installing drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads will help, however, these trucks will never stop like say a Mustang, etc.

What size rims do you need for that
Are there any specs for these brakes?

What specs are you looking for? We have a package that fits the 17" wheels in a BBK style kit. But we also have OEM bolt on replacement rotors and pads.

If those expensive brake kits actually made a big difference then I'm sure the makers/sellers would have verifiable side by side test results to show it.

Until then...... save your money.

Brakes work fine for me, this isn't a track truck. Certainly not even remotely bad enough to spend the kind of money these brake kits cost.

So a "bbk style" kit fits 17" wheels? I personally don't get it.

What are the exact specs and size of the $4500 kit you speak of?

I usually get suspect when someone posts a price on something with a generic description and there's zero specifications to be found anywhere. There are way too many choices and "bbk style" doesn't inspire confidence. Even after my post there is still no specs.

Help us by just being completely transparent. Thanks.

Ok, here is a little information on the kits. There isn't a link to the Raptor specific kit, mainly because I haven't added a link to my website and if you call R1 directly, you may run into issues having them "build" the package for you simply because not enough of their sales reps deal with Raptors or the BBK's in general. Because of that in particular that only two people at R1 are allowed to take my calls or work with my orders in any way.

That being said, I am listing the tech specs I have available in the best way I can at the moment.

Front:

17" wheels - 330mm(12.99") 6 Piston - $2183
18" wheels - 356mm(14.02") 6 Piston - $2453
19" wheels - 380mm(14.96") 8 Piston= $2987
20" wheels - 405mm(15.94") 8 Piston - $3269

Rear:

17" wheels - 330mm(12.99") 4 Piston - $2101
18' wheels - 356mm(14.02") 4 Pistons - $2237
18" wheels - 356mm(14.02") 6 Piston - $2322
19" wheels - 365mm(14.37") 6 Piston - $2406
20" wheels - 380mm(14.96") 6 Piston - $2499

Calipers Features

  • Forged Aluminum
  • 4-, 6- or 8-piston
  • 32 Color Options (15 Anodized & 17 Painted)
  • Aluminum or Stainless Steel Pistons

Rotors come in your choice of 1 piece or two piece.

  • DIAMOND SLOT TECHNOLOGY
  • DOUBLE DISC GRINDING
  • SPLIT VANE CASTING

Rotor Hat

I wasn't expecting Mustang braking but its almost a safety concern. Do a 0-60 blast then try and stop. I only have 300 miles as well. I was thinking performance rotors and pads if they do not improve with more miles. Some drilled rotors with a rust proof coating would be nice so the hats don't rust like the factory ones.
