Just for fun, curious to see how many of us think Ford will manufacture a V8 for the 2018 or 2019 or beyond Gen2 Raptor?

CAFE standards, 10 speed transmission, smaller displacement boosted engine...the writing is on the wall. Would I like to have a twin turbo or SC'd coyote? Sure, but it's not going to happen unfortunately. Take rate for the 3.5 over the 5.0 in the F-150's is currently higher as well.

No reason for Ford to offer a V8 in the Raptor going forward, unless it doesn't sell. Given F-150 sales only get better every year, I have my doubts that it won't sell better than the Gen 1. The next GT500 may even have the 3.5 in it.

The consensus seems to be 0-25% chance based on 29 poll responses so far.. (Let the flaming begin)

Why? EB is the future. Ford should stop making V8s. They suck at it anyway. Look at the 5.0 and 5.2...******

My guess and it is pure speculation, is that it depends upon first year sales and acceptance. Less than 5000 in sales may move them to consider a V8. Of course if they were even thinking about a V8 we should through the grapevine hear something. I am reconsidering plans to buy a 2017, I would be very upset to see a 2018 with a V8 after buying a V6.
