I really don't get the hatred of people driving a Prius and the whole thing with diesel drivers blocking recharging stations etc... WTF?

People who have to buy oil based fuels for their vehicles are upset that people are driving vehicles that use very little or no oil based fuels???

Same as **** and vegetarians- it leaves more for the rest of us.

I am ALL FOR anyone paying more of their money to buy a vehicle that uses less of the fuel that I need.

I hate them because they’re in the fast lane driving 58 mph. Like it’s their job to enforce the speed limit. I’m glad they’re not wasting my precious fuel as well as driving slow. Things would be better if the god-damn Prius people would stay in the slow lane.

It's illegal in Ohio too, I have never skinned anyone for it, but it drives me crazy when the wife does it....all the time.

Some guys are just a$$holes or are having a bad day, or he remembered you from a week ago cutting him off...it happens.

I would just xerox the ticket and run off a batch of wallpaper with it, maybe for the garage, chalk it up to "oops".

Stay safe..

Yeah it's no big deal. I follow the law to the best of my knowledge/abilities. If I knew it was illegal I wouldn't have done it. I just want them to know the guy was a ******* and sets a bad example for the community. That's what it's about right, protecting/serving the community? I just noted it because I was driving the Raptor which I haven't had very long. I have 2 other cars and a bike and did that improper turn hundreds of times with no issues.

Ignorance of state law is not a defense to prosecution. Neither is the “I have done the same maneuver a hundred times before” excuse. Law is created by law makers, and law enforcement is tasked with enforcing the laws.

The court of law is not the place to complain about a rude officer, or a “*******” as you have described. It’s a place where a judge decides on your criminal guilt or innocence, to which you have already acknowledged guilt in your post. Most departments have an internal or external complaint process. Most law enforcement encounters are at least audio and maybe video captured and can easily be reviewed if the complaint is brought up in s timely manner.

When I am in a law enforcement encounter, I do not expect the officer to be my best friend, engaging, or polite. He has a job to do, enforcing laws created by folks put in office by my votes. I don’t know if he just got done with a traffic stop and got motherf&@ked the entire time. Or his dog died the night before and he does not feel like being Officer Friendly. Or if the day prior, he scooped body parts out of a car after an accident resulting from a non right to right turn, and that infraction has become his pet enforcement law.

It's the one's that believe saving fuel cost is really doing anything, aside from cutting their own costs.
Road maintenance tax comes from fuel cost, and power plants that recharge their "cars" burn fuel and have emissions. there's also the fact that their batteries are toxic and large and will need to be disposed of at some point... so yea, it's BS hype in my opinion.

it's the narrow minded, ignorant attitude of some of them that i don't like.
If they want to drive a Prius, Fine, just shut up about it and share the road please.
Agree with the above comment.... Passing lane.... is it really that difficult.

Yeah that's cool and all, but I don't really care. I didn't do anything personally to the guy so being a **** to me and treating me like I'm stupid still isn't excused. People are rude to me all the time, does that mean that the next person I talk to is supposed to allow me to treat them like shit? I don't think so. If the cop treats me like shit, then I go back to my desk and talk to my clients like they're retarded, am I in the right because it's my job so that makes it ok for me to speak to people however I please? I don't care if his job is to be a cop, that doesn't give anyone any right to treat people like shit for no reason. I don't put cops (or anyone else) on a pedestal regardless of their job. We're all humans and until you've done something to that other human to deserve their disrespect, we all deserve equal respect, but you're welcome to lick whoever's boots you please.

And before anyone says it (or thinks it), no I don't dislike cops. I think they're needed and I largely appreciate them. But we are humans first, before our jobs, so I expect some level of decency from other humans regardless of their chosen profession.

Well like I said, the judge is not going to really care either. You are the one that posted your story on here about getting indignant with a cop because you were unaware of the motor vehicle violation you just committed, and for which you were pulled over. Getting a quick lesson on the law on the side of the road should not be disrespectful unless your pride takes over, which it obviously did. Take your hit, and file a rudeness complaint with his department. Make sure you post up the audio when you FOI it—would love to hear the actual version of the event.

Has nothing to do with pride man. It’s just about being decent to other people. I’m sure the judge won’t care, you’re right about that much. I didn’t share the story because I wanted a lecture about how I should just let people treat me like shit just because they have a certain job, but again, you do you. I posted the story because I haven’t gotten pulled over in 8 years until I got a Raptor which seemed relevant to the topic at hand.

Since I already know you’re going to try to come up with an argument about it, the answer is no, I don’t think driving a Raptor was definitively the reason I got pulled over. It’s just a note since OP said he seemed to get noticed more in his new Raptor and I had this experience which is similar.

But you made the same illegal turn thousands of times in your 8 years of driving experience, and never got caught by the rude policeman. So consider yourself in the win category. Take your lick on your illegal turn, and move on. Pouting and bitching to a judge and the Internet about the policeman hurting your feelings by being abrupt and not catering towards your incomprehension of the law also does nothing to bolster your position. Toughen up, snowflake, and take responsibility of your actions instead of deflecting.

****DISCLAIMER: This advice comes from someone with 30 years of driving experience.
