I just got my new Ruby Raptor and the other day another Raptor pulled up along side me that was a very light silver with black fender flares, I didn't say anything to him because I didn't want to be rude but I wanted to roll down my window and tell him that the clear coat he used sure made that primer shine. Oh well, to each their own. I hadn't seen another Raptor that was that light.

As a cop myself in a metropolitan area, I pay no extra attention to nice vehicles, other than the normal, “nice ride you got!” It’s the wanna be guys who are looking to race everyone even though they have nothing to race with. Those guys are the ones who create hazardous conditions on the roadways.......the same roadways my family drives on and yours. Trust me, even if a nice truck or sports car hits the throttle at a stop light, I don’t get worked up as long as they do it with some common sense in a way not to cause danger to others.

Just some FYI, sometimes there are occasions where police are on the lookout for a stolen vehicle, one that may match the physical description of the one you’re driving. In those cases, they may be following you while they run the registration plate to see if it’s the one they are looking for. If not, they will pull off or go on.

I didnt think of that. Because they dont pull me over and do go on their way. And thank you for serving and protecting everyone.

I got my first ticket in 8 years a couple weeks ago. Improper turn. Turned right at a light but went into the middle lane instead of far right. It was a motorcycle cop, first one I've ever seen in my area. I could see him staring at me as I made the turn. I had no idea that was a law, I do it all day every day probably thousands of times in my life. I was just commenting to my wife about it being the first motorcycle cop I've seen around here when I see him in the rear view mirror pull a u-turn in the middle of traffic and zoom up on me. The guy was a complete ****, rude as shit. He asked if I knew why he pulled me over and I said no. He said I made an improper turn going into the middle lane on a right turn. I told him I'd never heard of the rule. He says I should have paid more attention on my driver's test. You know, that one I took 14 years ago when I was 16, in another state that may have different rules. He goes back to his bike and sits there for over 20 minutes. Then walks around the truck 2 full times looking it up and down, trying to find ANYTHING he could to write me up for. Then slaps me a citation and drives off without a have a good day or anything. Total ****. Only had my Raptor about 2 months. I have 2 other cars and a bike and never get a second look from the cops any other time.

That is the kind of cop that give other cops a bad name. Everybody here turns that same way. Yes, the law here also states that you must turn into the nearest lane to you. However, no one here usually writes for it. That’s one of those ‘below the belt’ type of charges. Heck, I see cops here do the same thing. I police a lot like Sheriff Andy Taylor in the Andy Griffith Show......fair, and with a lot of common sense!

I appreciate you being one of the good ones. I have 2 officers in the family and I know they are not like this guy was. Maybe he was having a bad day, not sure. I contested the ticket, I'll see him in court next month. If I broke a law, write me a ticket, that's ok and not what made me mad. What made me mad was his terrible attitude and lecturing me about safety after he just pulled a u-turn with no lights on in the middle of traffic. When I made my illegal turn there were no other cars around. He waited until the light changed then pulled into oncoming traffic. His move was much less safe than mine, which just goes to show he doesn't actually care about the safety of anyone, he just wanted to write a ticket.

See...i wish more tickets would be written for this. I get sick of waiting behind someone to turn right, but the wont because they fear the left turn coming the opposite direction wont turn to the correct lane. If every would follow the freaking rules of the road, traffic would be non existent.

But in this case, a needless bottle neck happens because too many people dont turn to the correct lane.

This is almost as bad as left lane cruisers for me.

The worst thing is all the wanna-be’s. Every fool in a clapped out Toyota or dodge is going to be looking to race. Prius people will sneer at you too. One idiot in a Prius yelled that I was wrecking the planet with my gas guzzler. I told him that I was “enhancing my carbon footprint” lol!

OMG, YES. this is real, maybe nation wide.
Toyota drivers can be such insecure ******!

past few years i've had this sticker in my back window.

I really don't get the hatred of people driving a Prius and the whole thing with diesel drivers blocking recharging stations etc... WTF?

People who have to buy oil based fuels for their vehicles are upset that people are driving vehicles that use very little or no oil based fuels???

Same as **** and vegetarians- it leaves more for the rest of us.

I am ALL FOR anyone paying more of their money to buy a vehicle that uses less of the fuel that I need.

It's illegal in Ohio too, I have never skinned anyone for it, but it drives me crazy when the wife does it....all the time.

Some guys are just a$$holes or are having a bad day, or he remembered you from a week ago cutting him off...it happens.

I would just xerox the ticket and run off a batch of wallpaper with it, maybe for the garage, chalk it up to "oops".

Stay safe..
