What if it’s like PA where it’s completely gray about what’s allowed? Only State troopers bother usually and they claim any aftermarket film tint is illegal. The Magistrates say as long as you can see the driver from outside the vehicle it’s ok. It’s one of those things they use to see if they can get you for something else.

Tennessee. Some of the lowest taxes of any state, no state income tax, you can own all the guns and whatever else you want, cops are actually reasonable, climate is excellent, it's within a day's drive of a majority of the US population (and lots of beaches), and the annual emissions inspection on your car takes 5 minutes tops and costs $6, great hunting and outdoor recreation, etc...

All good except the part about A days drive of a majority of the US population… I never wanted to live east of the Mississippi because of population density…. AZ It’s good right now except for like everywhere else , Texas and Florida , dumb people are moving in and multiplying.

Population density in Tennessee isn't bad at all. Sure, if you drive to Chicago, DC, etc., you'll find it. But here...not so much.

Yes tint is illegal in CA on the front DR and PASS windows, Funny thing is every cop I know in CA and their wife has illegal tint. Drive by any CA PD dept and look at the private cars. All tinted.

Ture story....a while ago a friend was at a Highway Patrol station in Cali to service some equipment and while getting out of his vehicle an officer approached him and was gonna write him a ticket for tinted windows. So my friend point to all the tinted windows of the cars in the employee parking lot and said fine as long as you write those cars too! The officer made a face and turned around and walked away!
