100%, no doubt about it. I don't question that. my point is that soon enough you'll be able to make it sound loud, more dron-y, less drone-y....whatever. You'll be able to make it sound good or great. Different doesn't mean it's going to suck. I don't think there's anyone here that can honestly say they've never heard a V6 car that didn't sound awesome. To each their own. It's like seeing a yellow porsche. I'd never get one, it's not for me, but I can still look at it and say it looks bad-ass. If you're happy with your V8 and it's sound, keep it. If you're happy, great. Me? I'll sacrifice the mental ************ of hearing a V8 and thinking it's "better" and take the 450 hp.

I don't think it has anything to do with ************ and I'm not sure why you do?

I think it's purely physics. A Toyota Avalon sounds flat and boring because of physics. And that's what the new Raptor sounds like, too. I agree you can rasp it up or make it loud, but the underlying tone will always be flat and boring.

And I personally would never settle for 450 hp :)

Mental ************...it's a figure of speech.

You pretty much proved my point. I just looked and you have what, 700hp? You weren't happy with the way the truck was from factory (settling for even 415 hp) and did what you wanted to to make it how you would find it adequate. I'm not saying mine is better, but for ME, it is. That's all. And later on when some exhausts come out, I'll look around and find something I like.

Enjoy your truck. Must be a F#@ing monster.

Relative to the Shelby Baja 700, I have less restriction on both the intake and exhaust side and I'm one pulley size down. So I think it's closer to 750. And I don't think it's adequate. I think it's overkill. But I like that. If/when the factory short block gets tired on me, I plan to go bigger displacement and do the heads and cams.

I'm really glad you're happy with your truck. I think they're awesome. Ford made a lot of improvements they learned by watching this forum. And if they ever put a V8 in it again (admittedly looking unlikely these days) I'd love to park a new white one next to my current black one.

I just don't know why people have to get all weird and defensive and start talking about ***** and butts and circlejerks and ************ when people complain about the terrible exhaust note, which the aftermarket isn't going to be able to fix.

Just buy a new white one and do an engine swap already.

So... my wife took my truck to work this morning and I told her to get on it in front of our house so I could actually hear it going down the road and the only way to describe it is to close your eyes and picture that lowered 15 yr old Honda Accord with that banging bazooka exhaust system on it. Ya... it's that bad and this needs to addressed ASAP..... :flipthebird:

Have you found a solution??

Just got the 2017 today..Love everything but the exhaust note...
