The Outlaw racks hold up really well. We beat the crap out of a custom one at the NORRA 1000 and the 500. They can set them up to suit your needs.

The chase rack is built like a tank. The tie-down straps are the best I've seen, and the center strap is custom made for the gas tank and tool box.

A friend had a different rack and his tie-down straps came loose at TRR once, and later one of the straps sheered in half. I've never had to tighten my straps once they're in place.

Just understand that this rack is heavy (not too heavy) - but that's the cost of "built Ford tough".

What are you using to attach the shovel and AX to the side of your bed?

Thanks guys, I really love my setup. It took some planning and hard work. The rack also allows the install of a fire extinguisher and air tank in a convenient location (as you can see). Since these photos I've added a clamp-mounted 6 foot LED flag whip.

PhyGuy had Outlaw build an extension of this rack that provided a flat platform all the way to the back bed bolts. It's covered with a steel grate and has many attach points for tie downs. Wish I had thought of that!

iSurvive,

Which jack do you have in that setup? Looks like a Harbor Freight 2 ton low profile / high lift (24") ?

I'm looking to buy a jack and if it works both on the floor AND off-road...then that's what I'll get.
