Picking up on Friday. Then, drive 1700+ miles to get home. First truck ever!

Who would stay at the Best Western to begin with? SA isn't a safe place but let's be honest, neither are Houston, Dallas, Austin, etc. Hell I had to fly out of IAH this past week, started reading reviews on parking...and almost every lot had catalytic converter theft reviews. Found a 'safe' place and even had extra wide parking. Still didn't feel good about leaving 37 there.

OP we expect pics on pick-up and drive...these kinda incoming are our favs.
Who said anything about staying there. If you want your truck gone, go park it there.

Great way to break in new truck. I picked up in Augusta GA and drove home to CO/NM Four Corners in 3 days, ~1800miles. V6 engine is rough initially: take first 1000 miles easy, low revs, just cruising at 80 at 2000? rpm. Then it really starts smoothing out. Oil change asap when you get home.
Route - there's no interesting geographical way across the flat lands; you're either sucking it on I70 from Denver via KC to Nashville before the beautiful Smokey Mountains appear, or you're sucking it on I40 across the Texas pan handle. I've done both routes, and prefer the southern I40 because you get a bit more of the Rockies on the NM/CO end of it, and the roads and speed limits in Texas are far superior.... although the food and restaurant options are better on the northern route; great food options in Nashville and KC.... not so much in Amarillo or OC.

Either way, load up on podcasts and enjoy the journey and the time, and by the time you're home, new truck will be all broken in and ready to play.

Many thanks. Noted on the speed/rpm.
