I had a deposit down on a 2017 Oxford White but after waiting two weeks on Ford to take care of the seat belt recall I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a 2018 Race Red. The dealer had just received it. Worked out a great deal on my 2014 as a trade in and now I'm a proud owner of a Gen 2 Raptor. Any other Race Red Raptors on here yet?

What are you first impressions regarding 1st gen vs 2nd gen. Always helpful to hear from someone who's owned both regarding this hot topic.

Just ordered one yesterday

So I was in the same boat, looking at a Ruby Red 2017 with everything but the rear graphics. Got tired of the perpetual recall and the fact that the truck will be a year old soon, so I ordered a 2018 Race Red. Loaded. Dude said 4-5 months wait!!
Congrats, beautiful truck.

Well there are obvious differences that some of the gen 1 owners will always bicker about. The old Raptor did make all the right noises but that's wasn't enough for me to keep it. The old one felt like a tired truck. Running 37s didn't help, and the power steering noise was getting worse (second pump was going). The new Raptor feels more refined. Much more comfortable. It's leaps and bounds more technologically advanced and where the old truck felt like it had more low end torque this truck makes up for it after 3500 RPM.
