Pedal commander question / help

Question ..

i have a 2020 gen 2 ans has pedal commander installed

when it’s on currently in city +2

do i need to set the settings on the raptor options to sport mode or something else ? Or it’s don’t matter what mode the truck is in as pedal commander over rides ?

Either an accessport if you don’t mind a tune, or push the pedal harder with your foot? All it does is change the signal profile of the throttle pedal so a light press looks like a stomp to the truck. I’ve never understood the point tbh, but other people do like them.

Changing modes on the truck will have similar characteristics. The PC is not a tune it changes what the truck thinks the throttle position is at. Makes it more sensitive. I ran mine in normal and I think city + 3. Once I got my tune ditched the PC. I liked the PC just not close to what a tune does.

If you are just looking for a throttle controller, I would recommend the Banks Pedal Monster. It takes power from the OBD port & monitors the system for issues. If it detects something wrong, it will revert to stock mode instead of putting you into limp mode like PC. Never had any issues with mine.

Here is why you will either want PC or a tune:
1. Get in truck with no PC or tune
2. Realize its sluggish in Normal mode so change to other mode or move your seat up and constantly smash the throttle
3. Realize you don't like standing on throttle and change to Sport (or other) mode (3 seconds)
4. Change to 4 Auto (3 seconds) (its wet here so no 2wd for me)
5. Drive around happy with performance
6. Get to destination, turn off vehicle
7. Get back in vehicle
8. Since it reverts back to Normal mode when you turn it off go back to step #2.
9. Repeat the above steps 100s or 1000s of times and you will get sick of changing modes (and 2wd to 4wd in my case).
10. Order $300 PC and install in 5 minutes, if you don't like it like ISIS, or want to add HP, go get a tune for $xxxx.
11. Put in 4 Auto (in my case)
12. Never mess with it again.

I have had a PC on my 2020 for over a year now. I have a 100,000 mile warranty that I do not want to void so the tune is out of the question for me.

Stock, in Normal Mode, you will feel a delay, especially when you need the power most at take off. The PC significantly helps this.

Without the PC, you can go into Sport Mode to mitigate the delay, however the transmission settings and the suspension settings may drive you nuts. It holds gears much longer, which is not ideal for daily driving. It revs higher before shifting, delays upshifts when cruising, etc.

For me, the PC is a must without a tune.

Exactly, i didn't even mention the warrantee or high shift points in sport mode because i figured those are less fact and more individual perception.
