OP, I'm not here to criticize or anything like "Skippy". Just wanted to ask a question. Considering your application/usage - I'm curious to know; what led you to get a Raptor vs. something like a Super Duty? I'm not saying you're wrong in your decision, just interested in your thought process with no ulterior motives (not all of us Raptor owning Californians are Delta Bravos).

I don’t tow anything heavy. I have a 4000lb boat but the tongue weight is low. I don’t have a need for a 3/4 ton. I chose the Raptor because I own a camp in The Maine North Woods. The MNW is 1000’s of miles of dirt logging roads where your traveling at speeds of 60+mph for 100+ miles. It kicks the hell out of you in a normal
Truck. The suspension in the Raptor was made to eat those roads up.

Ahh, roger. Thanks! We have lots of fire and logging roads here in Nor Cal and Oregon (both where I grew up) and been goin' back hunting on those roads, wilderness camping, fishing - still go up with my dad as much as life will allow. He's got the hauler though and I have the Raptor for the desert trails when we go out shooting. So, may not be the same ones, but I know what you're talking about. Been "uptah" Maine a few times (Wells Beach, Kittery) but, haven't made it up to the deep woods part. Thanks for sharing!

Deaver +2HD springs will help a lot. Call deaver and talk to them - they have been making leaf springs since the 1800's... and, your truck will drive better too. The worst part of the Raptor suspension are the oversprung, thin leaf springs.

Do you love those tires as much as I love mine?

I've ran the gamut with tires. Toyo/Nitto ATs, Toyo/Nitto MTs, Toyo/Nitto RT/RGs..... I'de take the AT3 XLTs over any of them. Its tough to beat the looks of a Toyo MT but the coopers are a nice balance of aggressive and street friendly for us who daily drive our trucks.

The only unfair comparison is I haven't had the coopers in snow yet so I cant speak to that (not a lot of snow now that I live in FL).

Lived in LA first 30 years. Lived in snow the next 30. Was down in the Keys in January and FINALLY, after almost 20 years of marriage, the misses finally says "Yeah, I think I could do this year round!". I married the right one! So we're looking for somewhere warm to spend 6 months of the year. Have always had the recurring nightmare that I'd be walking the dog in Winter and slip on the ice and it'd be lights out. Not no more!

Dude, that's not "Upta" anywhere. That's like crawling distance to NH. Although the misses has to hit the outlets in Kittery like 27 times a year. Oh and the NH liquor outlet, but I'm getting off track. You've gotta get to at least Portland to be "Upta!". Me, fuggedaboutit, I live in BFE Maine. Downcast Maine, if you will. Ain't no one up here.

For what its worth, I put gen1 timbrens on my gen2. They are shorter and allow for more travel before engaging the stops. You'll have a bit more sag when loaded up but at the same time you'll preserve more of your suspension travel.

that is a good idea, i think your truck is sitting nice there with the boat....the gen2 ones are right down on the axle
