Passenger Side Vs. Driver Side Catch Can

I'm looking at getting a catch can set up since I've been told its a fairly cheap peace of mind mod for the money. my question is after doing a lot of research I have noticed most seem to get the passenger side CC but in some other discussions I've read that the driver side is the one you want. obviously getting both is an option as well but would like to get some members input on here that have run either one side or the other or even both and give feedback on which one actually benefits and functions the best.

I have the JLT catch can (passenger side). Based on my research before, some members recommended both sides because passenger side only catches oil when idling/no boost whereas both sides catch during boost as well. Cost is also something to consider as well as I know catch cans that cover both sides cost more. Lastly, the ease of installation. JLT took me maybe 15 minutes and no mandatory drilling whereas others you have to sometimes drill the tubes.

Don't get a catchcan, its a waste of money. I've had one for 4 years and haven't seen a drop of oil come out of it.

The dual is for if you run under boost for long periods of time such as heavy towing. I run the single on my 18 and empty an oz or two every 5k miles.

Thanks for the input, I mainly use mine for commuting back and forth to work and at times I do idle a bit so I think the passenger side only should do the trick

Yes… the issue I had with the JLT catch can my tuner guy installed. Instead of oil all I got were check engine lights for PCV leaks.
I eventually splurged for a Full Race Oil Catch Can. I get all kinds of crap outta that thing. It connects to both sides. Works as advertised.
In the attached pic you’ll see my setup. Disregard the mounting points, and connections. I’ve got a 2016 Expedition… had to make modifications to mount it.

You're gonna get both sides of the fence here. Your vehicle is capable to take in any blow-by and why would FORD add a catch can when they don't want your vehicle to last longer, they can't trust people to maintain it and it's additional money they don't have to spend. Is it a good idea? Is oil/water part of the combustion cycle? Do you want oil covering intake components? So if you REALLY care about your truck...why not. People who say you don't need one either believe blow-by is make believe or they don't care that their truck takes that back in. With that being said you need to check it, drain it...and keep it clean or you can cause greater issues. You will notice the passenger side gets a greater accumulation.
