I have popped this code 3 times since July. It's a low coolant temperature code. Basically the coolant temp is too low I guess? Anybody got ant ideas? 2010 6.2.

Hmm, perhaps. Does this truck have a traditional thermostat? I'll drop a new one in if so.

im not sure. i am only familiar with the codes. anytime we see a check engine light at work, we read the code to make sure its not related to us, or if we dont notice it until after we finish the vehicle, we need to make sure we didnt set it off....... funny, i have the ford service disk, but i cant access it......... someone here knows. they will input soon enough

Indicates that the thermostat monitor has not achieved the required engine operating temperature within a specified amount of time after starting the engine.

possible causes -Insufficient warm up time
Low engine coolant level
Leaking or stuck open thermostat Malfunctioning ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor
Malfunctioning CHT (cylinder head temp) sensor

I would start with coolant level, then thermostat, then attack sensors.

As stated earlier, 99.9 out of 100 times a new thermostat and gasket cures a p0128 code. Id recommend an OE replacement Motorcraft - no aftermarket alternate temp or anything crazy.

Hey my raptor had 62,000 miles on it and I had the same code, I found my thermostat busted! Cost me $15.00 motorcraft thermostat and gasket. Installed it myself, it's pretty easly.

Sweet! I haven't messed with this yet, but it hasn't popped again. I need to Change my oil so I'll replace this also.
